Author: Philip Tibbetts.

Rationale: The white rhombus shape, inspired by the current state flag, symbolises a diamond and thus recalls the state’s nickname which in turn recalls the diamond mining heritage and industry. Upon the diamond is charged a Diana Fritillary, which is the official state butterfly. The butterfly is used to reference the origins of the state’s name as associated with the wind, as well as nicely reflecting the red, white and black colours of the state’s Universities - Arkansas State and University of Arkansas.
