The flag of State of Durango is official since March 9, 2014

The flag of the state of Durango is, like most current Mexican state flags, the coat of arms centered on a white field.

The coat of arms, granted to Durango by the Spanish Crown in the seventeenth century, is based on the arms of Biscay, Spain, as Durango was called New Biscay during the existence of New Spain. The shield shows on a silver field an oak tree and two wolves. The supporters are two palm branches joined by a red ribbon on the lower part. The crest is a royal crown in gold with a red interior, on top of which is a sphere, representing a globe, with a Latin cross over it.
