Original description:

"This flag is based on the North Dakota coat of arms. Symbolism is the same for this flag as for the arms, the yellow and green colors represent agriculture and wild areas, and the three stars represent the three branches of government. The colors, striping, and stars are all depicted in an arrowhead shape in the coat of arms, so I decided to impose a white arrowhead in the center of the flag to make that connection. The arrowhead symbolizes the native people of North Dakota, particulary the Sioux nation."
