The flag of Singapore, consists of a horizontal red stripe, a horizontal white stripe, with a white crescent moon and five white stars on the upper part of the flag.

Symbolism[]

The red stripe is for the universal brotherhood and equality of man, the white stripe for pervading and everlasting purity and virtue, the waxing crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant, and the five stars represent the nation's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
